Tower Tour Docent
Primary Function: Give organized and educational tours of the Price Tower. A tour docent is an ambassador for Price Tower Arts Center to visitors.
Description of Duties: Conduct a group of eight visitors through a one hour tour of the tower. The tours start on the first floor and continue to the top three floors. Ensure visitors to Price Tower have a positive experience. Answer questions about the Price Tower, Bartlesville area and future Price Tower Arts Center museum exhibitions.
Time Commitment: A minimum of two tours monthly (weekdays and/or weekends), approximately three total hours. Tours are given Tuesday through Sunday. Docents should arrive 15minutes prior to tour. Attend training sessions and curatorial walk-through of new exhibitions.
Skills: Tower tour docents must be physically fit (about to climb stairs) and must be able to project vocally. No prior art training required.
Training: Tour docents will be given all the information necessary to give an informatiove comprehensive tour. Docents are asked to attend training sessions and 'shadow' experienced tour guides. Ongoing training and workshops are offered throughout the year.
