2012 Nothing But Modern Gala: A Great Way To Support Price Tower Arts CenterJan 10, 2012
(Bartlesville, OK) The Price Tower Arts Center’s 2012 Gala Fundraiser Nothing But Modern is fast approaching and time is running out to reserve your seats at dinner. The event will be held on January 28th, 2012 at the Bartlesville Community Center. Enjoy great food, dancing and friends all while raising funds for Price Tower Arts Center, an organization with a mission to preserve one of American culture’s great examples architectural innovation—Frank Lloyd Wright’s 1956 Price Tower.
“The annual Gala Fundraiser is one of the best ways we are able to preserve Price Tower’s history and keep our educational programs and exhibitions running. We love being able to provide these opportunities to the public and a great way to do that is by having a party with all our friends and supporters,” said Tim Boruff, executive director of Price Tower Arts Center.
The Nothing But Modern theme for this year’s gala was inspired by the work of Swedish designer Greta Magnusson Grossman, a well-known modernist designer who immigrated to the United States in 1940. Her work is now the subject of a new traveling exhibition that will make a stop in Bartlesville at Price Tower Arts Center entitled Greta Grossman: A Car and Some Shorts. The exhibition will be on display in the Arts Center from January 20th to May 6th, 2012.
The 2012 Gala will be an exciting night filled an exquisite dinner, a silent and live auction and dancing. The night begins with a VIP Reception at 6 p.m. in the Price Tower Arts Center’s Taliesin Room, where guests will also be able to view the new exhibition.
The main gala fundraiser dinner and auctions will follow at 7 p.m. across the street at the Bartlesville Community Center. The gala event will feature both live and silent auctions with items including a dinner party at Dr. Pat Tinker’s house, artwork, jewelry, dinner parties and a cocktail party in Copper Bar with its amazing views of the Osage Hills. Anyone wishing to donate an item valued at $50 or more to the auctions is encouraged to do so without delay by calling 918.336.4949. All proceeds go toward supporting Price Tower Arts Center.
Guests will enjoy a dinner prepared by Chef Tim Inman of Tulsa’s Stonehorse Café. Music will be provided by DJ Connections and there will be a dance floor for those who want to kick off their shoes and let the music move them into the night!
This year’s honorary gala chairs are Lewis and Sharon Ambler and Scott and Martha Ambler, all of Bartlesville. Lewis Ambler is the former District Attorney of District 11 and law partner at Ambler and Conaster Law firm. Sharon Ambler ran her own drapery business for 35 years before becoming a tour guide at Price Tower.
Scott Ambler owns Ambler Architects in Bartlesville. Martha Ambler is a former legal assistant at Ambler and Conaster Law Firm and currently supports Ambler Architects’ bookkeeping.
“This is our first time to be able to do something like this with Price Tower Arts Center and so we’re very excited,” said Sharon Ambler.
The 2012 Gala Fundraiser was organized by the Gala Committee led by event chair Kimberly Doenges, and active supporter and volunteer of Price Tower Arts Center and the Bartlesville community.
