Education Assistant
Education Program Assistant
Primary Function: Price Tower Arts Center offers art classes to the general public. An education assistant primary responsibility would be to assist in two ways: 1) assist the instructor of the art class. Duties may include helping prep the materials for the class, assisting the instructor during the class and follow up after the class. Occasionally some research (online) may be necessary to aide instructor in creating samples or developing class background. 2) Another aspect of being an education program assistant would be to help care for the Annex building where our classes are held. The art supplies and equipment need to be kept organized and inventoried.
Time Commitment: The time commitment varies with the type of class. Many classes only meet once or twice a month for an hour at time. Summer camp assistants meet everyday for two weeks for an hour or longer. If the assistant wishes to help care for the Annex building then a minimum of 3 hours a month on regular scheduled basis is required
Training: No training is required. If you enjoy arts and crafts and working with people then you have what it takes to be a successful program assistant. If you enjoy stacking and sorting and organizing then you have the skills needed.
