For Educators

About Arts Center Education

Price Tower Arts Center continues to develop and offer classroom educational materials for elementary, middle school and high school curriculum units, and integration into education curricula (Arts, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) for a full school year. Free materials provide assistance with planning, lending, and complimentary museum admission to educators and students. Bus funds are also offered to participating groups, as available.

Goals of the Arts Center's educational program are to enrich the experience for educators and students, providing a frame of reference substantiated by contact with historical and cultural ideas that will spawn insight and inform decisions as citizens, establish a meaningful relationship between museums and educators, and to replace "show and tell" visits with curriculum-based cultural enrichment.

The Arts Center's program provides educational resources to regional educators from school districts, private schools and home school groups. Programs offered are designed to help educators fulfill State of Oklahoma Board of Education PASS requirements by using Arts Center temporary and permanent exhibitions to support and enrich the learning experience of student participants.

The philosophy is based on our desire to provide programs both wide and deep in scope enabling educators to integrate Arts Center programming into classroom instruction. Price Tower Arts Center offers free educational materials to help educators pre-teach lessons prior to a formal classroom visit to an exhibition.

As with all tours and education programs, students will be led by an experienced docent, volunteer, or museum curator and receive a tour developed for their instructional level.

The museum will also provide a short art experience/workshop for a hands-on art session.
