The Outsiders: Summer Sundown Movie Series

June 19, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Bartlesville Film Society and the Price Tower Arts Center are partnering together to present this year’s Summer Sundown Movies lineup. On Friday, August 10th we will be showing a FREE screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic The Outsiders outside under the stars at the Price Tower beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and families to this all-ages community event.

Based on the book by S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders tells the story of two rival teen gangs in Tulsa, OK. The film is noted for its cast of up-and-coming stars, including C. Thomas Howell (who garnered a Young Artist Award), Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane. The film helped spark the Brat Pack genre of the 1980s. It was shot primarily in Tulsa, and to this day “the Outsiders house” is a tourist attraction for those that visit the area.

The Outsiders has a running time of 92 minutes and is rated PG-13 for violence, teen drinking and smoking, and some sexual references. Popcorn and concessions will be available at the event.

The Bartlesville Film Society and the Price Tower Arts Center would like to thank the following sponsors for their contribution to this summer’s lineup: Arvest Bank, DSR, Jim Moore State Farm, Truity Credit Union, and Woolaroc.

NOTE: The start time of 9pm for this event is tentative. The movie will begin as soon as it is dark outside. Please plan to attend the event at dusk.
