You are to design and construct a container for an egg, which will be dropped from the 10th floor balcony of the Price Tower. The container should keep the egg from breaking upon impact with the ground and come as close to the target as possible.


Cushioning materials, such as cotton balls, bubble wrap, balloons and so on; tape, glue, straws, paper, cardboard, etc,

A raw egg will be provided to each individual or team participant. Do not bring your own egg and do not enclose your egg in your container.


The design must allow easy opening and closing for egg inspection.

It must fit into a 1 ft. x 1 ft. x 1 ft.  cube.


Balloons or balloon type devices may only be inflated by human breath. (No helium!)

Liquids, chemicals or flammable agents are not allowed!

Material such as metal, glass or any type of shattering material may not be used.

Use of food such as watermelons or similar food is not allowed.

Motors are not allowed.


All unbroken eggs beat all cracked or broken eggs.

All cracked eggs beat all broken eggs.
